La evolución de mi peso.

Buenos días mis queridos lectores.

Hoy es Domingo día 14 de agosto de 2011, soy Salvador de Larrauri Escudero, tengo 30 años y 5 meses y hoy me he levantado de buen humor, más que de buen humor me he levantado con buenas disposiciones. Hay una serie de cosas en mi vida que no me gustan y que quiero ir cambiando. Una de ellas es mi peso, quiero adelgazar, pero ese no es el principal problema de mi vida, estar gordo es más un síntoma que el problema en sí, pero creo que si reorganizo mi horario, pongo a Dios más en el centro de mi vida y me tomo en serio esto de estar en forma lo conseguiré y daré un vuelco de 180º a mi vida. Esta semana voy a apuntarme a un gimnasio, porque lo que quiero de verdad no es adelgazar, lo que quiero hacer es ganar musculatura, ser como uno de esos nadadores de las olimpiadas, creo que esa es la musculatura que más me gusta para mí, no quiero convertirme en una masa de músculos tipo Swarchenegger
no me gustaría algo tan exagerado.

Ha día hoy peso 133 kilos, es mi récord, no es algo de lo que esté orgulloso, pero después de muchos años sin pasar de los 120 kilos, este año lo he consiguido. ¿Y cuál a sido el problema? Pues como casi todo en esta vida ha ido poco a poco. Después de volver de Nueva Zelanda conseguí establecerme en los 108 kilos de peso, pero poco a poco fui modificando mi pauta alimenticia y volviendo a los vicios que me hacen engordar: básicamente comer mucho durante el tiempo de las comidas y llevarme comida mientras miro series en el ordenador. Este es uno de mis propósitos, no llevarme comida al ordenador. Lo curioso del asunto es que también estoy haciendo ejercicio, por lo que gracias a Dios no estoy taaaaan gordo como la última vez que pesé 133 kilos, lo que quiero decir es que parte de mi peso lo debo también a mi musculatura, ya que mi talla de pantalón no ha cambiado tanto.

Mi peso ideal está entre los 80 y 88 kilos, y tengo que consumir unas 3.000 calorías diarias, con esto conseguiría que mi cuerpo no acumulase las sobrantes. Que gastaría lo que consumiría y así no engordaría vamos.

Estimado lector probé la Nintendo 3DS con el Super Street Fighter IV 3D edition y era muy espectacular. Coincido contigo en que te mareabas con facilidad, de hecho no te recomiendan utilizarlo más de media hora seguido. Por eso lo han hecho con las dos posibilidades, verlo en 3D y quitar el efecto 3D , personalmente lo conectaría en los momentos más espectaculares o cuando realmente necesites ver las cosas en 3D para calcular saltos y eso.

Un efecto super curioso que noté es que tú mismo puedes controlar la profundidad del 3D si ejercitas tus ojos. Me explico. ¿Has jugado con los libros de ver imágenes en 3D, esos del ojo mágico? Pues allí te enseñan a ver imágenes en 3D desenfocando la vista como si estuvieras viendo algo que está más lejos de lo que en realidad está el libro que sostienes. Si dominas la técnica te es muy fácil ver imágenes estereoscópicas en 3D. Pues bien si utilizas esta técnica con la función 3D encendida puedes controlar tú mismo si lo quieres ver en 3D o no.

No creo que me compre la consola, a no ser que empiecen a salir juegos que todo el mundo me recomiende. La consola va a triunfar, será el primer aparato que te permita reproducir imágnes y películas en 3D a un precio no desorbitado. Además permite sacar fotos en 3D y puede que próximamente incluso te deje sacar video en 3D, que entonces sí que se comerá todo el mercado, incluso el de videocámaras en 3D. Aunque la calidad de imagen que consigue no sea la óptima, es una calidad muy buena. Creo que Nintendo lo ha vuelto a conseguir.

"The Hobbit" still has not been given the official green light, but Sir Peter Jackson is in Los Angeles this week quietly meeting with actors.

The New Zealand-based director's casting trip, which also included stops in New York and the U.K., underscores the progress being made on a complex series of deals to bring J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy novel to the big screen.

Sources say Jackson's pact with Warner Bros. to direct the two-part "Hobbit" adaptation is close to done, but the sticking point continues to be the dire financial situation at MGM, which holds half the rights to the property.

Warners, which is acting as the lead studio on the co-production, is furiously negotiating with MGM, which is being steered by a committee of creditors and financial stakeholders. Even if Warners wanted to fund the films itself, that would require a sign-off from the somewhat rudderless MGM.

Jackson, who has been in L.A. since Saturday, is working with casting director Victoria Burrows on assembling what will likely be a large, international cast for the project.

"The Hobbit" has so far taken a bumpy road to the screen. Director Guillermo del Toro abruptly left the project in May, citing scheduling delays. Jackson, who directed the megahit "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and was to serve as a producer on "Hobbit," was then recruited to direct the films. But Jackson has expressed his own concerns about timing, privately telling the studios he would not commit to the project unless the films could be fast-tracked and into theaters in 2012 and 2013.

Chrismas letter to my family

December 14th (2008)

Hello family:

I write to you to wish you a joyful Chrismas. Jesus' birthday. I hope you can spend this special time with the family.

My family is growing now, so I am very happy. My brother Luis and his wife Loli are expecting their first baby arround May. My cousin Luis and Marian had a son called Gonzalo. Another cousin, Javier, and his wife are awaiting the arrival of another baby (I do not know when!). Another cousin, Cristina Escudero, had a daughter called Naira. And now, when I'm putting the final touching on this late publication of my Newzelander blog, my sister Patricia and her husband Juan Antonio are expecting their first baby, probably will be a girl and they like to put the name of Pilar.

In New Zealand all is fine. Today is Sunday it is a beautiful and sunny day (in Madrid it is winter, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha... how jealous you must to ;) I have been in New Zealand 3 months now, in this time I have learned a lot of English. If someone speaks to me I understand 70% more or less (this is very good progress, as when I arrived I only understood 25-30%). If people speak and I am listening I may understand 30-70% depending on the conversation topic or if there are 3 people or more in the conversation, because people often cut sentences short, so it is more difficult to follow the conversation.

On the farm, I help the Brosnahan family in their business, manufacturing sawdust. I debark the logs of wood & help when the machine is chipping, feeding the flowing stream of woodchips grades into bags. I also feed the animals. We have 4 calves without mothers, results of 5 sets of twins this year. We give them milk and moozly (which is a mix of grain & molasses). The dogs are taken for a run and they are put back into their kinnels before I feed them.

We also have 2 ponies, Coco and Rosie. One time Coco almost kicked me on the face (she is a very proud pony), I was picking up tangelos fruit (a cross of grapefruit & orange) and she tried to steal the fruit, in the commotion all the fruit fell out of the bucket on to the ground, and I had to pick it up again. To defend "her" food, Coco almost kicked me in the face, luckily the bucket stopped the kick.

Some weekends we go to Rotoma Lake, and I spend the time kayaking. The last time I arrived to a deserted beach and I thought "I am on Losts' island". But on the return journey I got lost (about 20 minutes). That is a short snippet of my life on the farm. May the child Jesus bless you and all your family this Christmas, and bless our 2009 year:

Postscript: Today I was cutting trees, it is a very exciting activity, and you go with the chain saw and make a cut in triangle form and another cut on the other side. Then the tree falls down to the side of the triangle. We have to direct the felling of the trees with the tractor, it is difficult but John Brosnahan has many skills with the tractor, so does things that you never thought a tractor could do.

The place were was filmed one scene, the black-riders searching the hobbits, I'm the bottom of the horse formed by 3 persons: it is awesome!!!

Here one black-rider come to smell the hobbits, but the false-root was removed...

My visit to the Wellington Zoo

Wellingtong Zoo photos. They have really sympathetic, birds like luggage, monkeys of the side of a zump!! I could pet the Jirafes, really awesome!! The lions have a glass and could be really near you, it is relly scary, is a big big animal and if it will have the opportunity eat you :(

The dingos' are like dogs but wild, instead some times the personal of the zoo take them for a run and the people in the zoo could pet them!!

The beggining of the end of my long return journey (7 of June of 2009-23 of June2009) the fardest part that I ever been out of Spain, it is no possible to go more fare, only with a spacial ship I will could. I start there in horse, then on car to Picton, then in Ferry to Wellington, car again in Wellingtong to Auckland, seeing good by to all my friends in the way, then a plane to Bangkok, spent 10 days in Bangkok buying technology and clothes, a plane to Athens, one night in Greece and finally one plane to Madrid, from Madrid on car to Miguels house, then in car to surprise my mother, and really finally to home... sweet home, after 9 months, 11 days, 10 hours, 35 minutes and 13 seconds... :)

I give a lot of envy to many people, some of my friends say to me, but I encourage you to do a simmilar journey, it is awesome, you learn English, meet new people, learn to do the things yourself, you see a different country, and if you ara the Lord of the Rings fan it is a better experience, so you know it you have the opportunity, just do it!!!

Letter to friend explaining the meaning of suffering for a Christian

Thinking about the many subjects we talk (Jesus, the family, suffering, the unity of the Christians...) I was a little bit uncomfortable because I couldn't explain some subjects completely. So now with more time and looking up Catholic books I like to answer more completely some of your questions.

The suffering. Our Lord create the world and all the things that we see and the other ones we can not see. And the world in the imagination of God was perfect. So the suffering is not a invention of God. But also God give us a precious gift, our freedom. But our first Parents (Adam and Eve) misuse they gift and commit sin, so in this moment the suffering come in to the world (universe, all creation...).

But God in his infinite wisdom decide to repair our sin. The magnitude of the offense measure for the person you offend. In this case was God the offended, so He decide to send us His beloved son to repair our sins (Jesus is the only person that could repair our sins, because is true God and true human, so as God have the power to forgive our sin, and being a real human he could ask God (the Father) to forgiveness, for all the human race.

But because God is infinitely merciful He decide to restore our original condition plus the adoption of us as Children and Daughters of God. And because, Jesus is present in body and soul in heaven he could intercede for us and ask the Father for our petitions.

And how Jesus could win this amazing grace for us? Through the suffering, the pain, the sorrowful of the Cross. So God transform the non-meaning of the suffering in our world in a redemptive meaning. We can unite our sufferings, happiness and jobs of our day to the sufferings of Jesus Christ in the Cross. So now if an child have a terrible cancer and he don't understand the meaning if his suffering, we can explain him that the suffering will can have meaning. And also in this God give us freedom, we have to offer our sufferings (also the happy moments, the family, the work, the time spent with our friends... in one word all our life), so if we forgot offer to God, God could not give us his graces, that's the reason because the world go so bad (not for the greenhouse effect, the wars, the contamination or other reasons) the world go bad, because the people don't pray, don't worship the Lord.

So if you offer your little suffers of the day to God, it is a sacrifice very please to God. Thank you for your patient, other day I could explain you the part of the Virgin Mary in all Gods plans. You can ask me all the questions that you like.

St. Paul the early years

This year is the St. Paul year in the Catholic Church (28-June-2008--29-June-2009). So I'm go to relate his story before his conversion. I represent St. Paul in a monologe facin 100 persons, and some of the public say me after that I do very well but I need to practice more, reading in loud voice. In his own words St. Paul was:

I am a Jew, born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up here in this city where I was educated in the school of Gamaliel, according to the strict observance of our Law. And I was educated in the God's service, as are all of you today. (Acts 22:3)

I was circumcised when eight years old. I was born of the race of Israel, on the tribe of Benjamin. I am Hebrew, born of Hebrews. With regard to the Law, I am a Pharisee, and such was my zeal for the Law that persecuted the Church. As for being righteous according to the Law, I was blameless. (Philippians 3:5-6)

Are you Hebrews? So am I. Are you Israelites? So I am. Are you descendants of Abraham? So I am. (2 Corintians 11:22)

St. Paul before became Christian persecute the Church and send to the Sanhedrin and to the jail many Christians. The Christians was fear of him. In his own words:

I myself in the beginning thought that I had to use all possible means to counteract the name of Jesus of Nazareth. This I did in Jerusalem and with the authorisation of the chief priests, I put in prison many who believed; and I cast my vote when they were condemned to death. I whent round the synagogues and multiplied punishments against them to force them to renounce their faith; such was my rage against them that I pursued them even to foreing cities. Whith this purpose in mind I went to Damascus with full authority and commissioned by the chief priests. (Acts 26:9-12)

This is the final scrip tha I represent:

-I was brought up a Pharisee and so I observe scruplously the teachings of the Law, like washing my hands up to the elbow before every meal and paying taxes for cumin and mint. By following these laws I will become a perfect Pharisee.

-I am doing my duty by persecuting the Christians, because they are on the wrong path. So I am going round the synagogues and multiplying punishments against them to force them to renounce their faith; and I will give my vote when they are condemned to death.

[STONING OF STEPHEN]

- (New beginning) My Name is Saul, I was born in Tarsus, a city of Cilicia. I approve of the stoning of Stephen because he followed the teachings of a person called Jesus, a blasphemer who said that he was… The Son of God!!!!

-He deceived the Jews, my brothers; by saying he was the promised Messiah. But he died on a cross and was buried… but his disciples stole the body and said that he rose again and now they are going around continuing this blasphemy, deceiving our brothers, baptising thousands in the name of the false prophet Jesus of Nazareth, and our problem is growing.

-This Jesus said he was the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One, but he is only a man, and he claimed to be equal to God! ohhh!!! So blasphemous... he made my blood boil!! I’m going to ask permission from the Chief Priest to go to Damascus and stop this nonsense. That’s the reason why I approved of the stoning of Stephen, for he was teaching against Moses and our laws.

-I love our precious Law, and I’m a good Jew, perfect according to the Law and our tradition. I observe the 600 precepts of the tradition and I never forget a single one. As my Rabbi Gamaliel taught me…I’m an Israelite, descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin, from the House of Israel and I worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the one True God.

-All the Jesus followers are afraid of me, for I have arrested many of them. It’s stupid to blindly follow someone that died on a cross... (yurk!) How they believe that Jesus was God? How can they be so blind to the truth? Those disciples stole the body and said that Jesus had risen again!!

I have arrested a lot of Christians and I know I’m doing my duty as a good Jew and worshiping the Lord by doing so. Soon I hope the Chief Priest will give me letters to go to the synagogues in Damascus to stop this blasphemous people from destroying our nation!!! As the Psalmist says, Zeal for your house consumes me Lord!!!! I want to force these fools to see the truth and come back to the correct way, or, if they will not, I will put them in prison and have them killed so they don’t contaminate more Jews.

Hola a todo el mundo !!!!

He vuelto. I'm sorry for the late of the article. Bur the last month I have a lot of work to do, thanks God. I was working in the Hui (reunion en Maori). In this meeting I have to talk of S. Paul, because we are in Saint Paul year. I have to talk about the early years, before his conversion. It was very interesting to search information and write down, I learned a lot of English and of my faith.

Pues sí esta entrada os la escribo en español.

Y es que se lo merece. La verdad es que no me esperaba esta sorpresa al venir a Nueva Zelanda. Pero gracias a Dios es real. Madrileños por el mundo van a venir a grabarme!!!!! Saldré en la tele, tendré mis 15 minutos de gloria!!! o más. La verdad es que todavía no me lo creo. Han estado grabando en Aucklan esta mañana y mañana vendrán por Roturua para hacerme la entrevista en frente del lago. Luego les llevare a un sitio muy especial que no quiero revelar, sera una sorpresa y sera la bomba, no especuléis demasiado en los comentarios que si no os chafareis la sorpresa.

Por lo demás estoy muy contento, feliz como una perdiz. Esta semana hemos visitado el colegio Juan Pablo (dedicado en honor al Papa Juan Pablo II). Hemos animado a la gente a venir al Hui (reunión en Maori, la lengua de los indígenas de Nueva Zelanda), en el que hablaremos de San Pablo, tendremos una cena y adoración con el Santísimo en la Iglesia de San Miguel arcángel. Yo me estoy preparando la parte anterior a la conversión de Saulo. Esta bastante chulo investigar sobre San Pablo, ya publicare el "estudio". Lo tengo que hacer todo en inglés así que estoy aprendiendo a pasos forzados.

Hello everybody:

Thank you for all your prayers. Now I have a volunteer job in the Dioceses of Hamilton, I have to visit the Catholic Schools and try to show my experience with Christ and invite the people to be good Catholics.

The guy in red is my friend Steve Ford, I leave him working in the farm. For all the people who don't know the story I'll tell that the work in the farm was finished, and I had look for other ways of earning my living. So I urge all my family and friends to pray and thanks God finally I have a volunteer job in the Hamilton Dioceses. Thank you for all the persons that pray for me. Thank you a lot.

My normal day is not normal. I get up early in the morning, go to Mass. And I have to take the car many days and drive with all my team (4 persons) to Hamilton (I'm in Rotourua) about 1 h by car. Jamie gives us instructions and formation for the week and we have to visit Schools and other Catholic organizations. I have to prepare a testimony of my personal experience with Jesus and share with the people. It is a really apostolic job and I start enjoying it.

This is a little tractor that I found in a city. It is real, it isn't a sculpture, its cute... :)

In my travel through New Zealand I stop a few days in a Brosnahan's friend farm. I really enjoyed helping cutting wood and visiting Paeroa the born place of a soda drink famous in New Zealand.

This week I visit a School in Routoura, it is a wonderful Catholic School dedicated to the Pope Joan Paul II. The school have more equipment than much of the universities in Spain, is really impressive. We have a mass with the Bishop Dennis to appoint the new prefects for this 2009 year. The only thing that I don't like was the music, they mix the songs with pop rithms in the middle (I think it is for the Protestant influence). The students and the parents I met was very good (one for Brazil, and other that had been in Spain on an army maniouver in the Pirinees) The world is very small...

After many years searching you can see in the photographs I found the Eureka village. What's yours oppinion Santi?

In the same way all started, now finish. My time in the Brosnahans' farm is over. I spent a marvel time. I made jobs I never think I would do in my life, and I enjoy it a lot. As yous see in the videos the life in the farm is too hard . All the day kayaking visiting alone beachs and making and editing videos....No, this is the life in some weekends, but I enjoy it, because I feel like one character of Perdidos.

Many people die in the fire in Australia, that is because the people like to live in a green zone surrounded by trees, but he don't realize the danger of a fire, the Eucalyptus trees explode and expand the fire, the oil contained inside. The nature it is beautiful, but we have to control it and prevent this fires (provoking the fire in winter and have one safety zone around the villages). For example one man safe his propriety because he pay 50.000 $Au (30.000 euros) to cleared the area around his house of trees.

The past 14 of February we went to a Mass to celebrate the 20 years of the woman of Opus Dei in New Zealand and Fr. Anthony Bernal preach an Homily explaining the history. Also I have an interview of job, and now I'm waiting for the answer. I'm waiting for hear of you:

Walking in the rain

Hello everybody:

I'm back. Since many weeks I don't post anything. Here you have two videos. In the firts one you can see my place of work and the people with I work. My voice sound strange, I never could work as a TV or Radio locutor.

But anyway, this week Max, Dominic and I went to one lake to watch the people water skiing and jumping, it was amazing to see it.

One day I was taking the dogs to go to around, and I don't realize, but I have to pass through the flock of cattle. Was my surprise when one of the dogs start to bark a cow, it is they nature, bother the cattle. The cow face him and try to frighten, as a result all the cows get alert and surround me with the dogs (25 cows with her calf to defend). Sorry Enri, Guille and DjV, but this situation beat all the Metal Gear Solid including the introduction of MGS4, it is the most dangerous an exciting situation I live. The cows start to attack the dogs and the dogs continuing bark, so I finally run to save my live and jump near the other paddock and scream to the dogs stop bark the cows. Imaging 5 tons of furious meat multiply per 25 and you in the middle, now I know how feel Simba in the gnus' stampede in The Lion King.

This video is for takes up dramatise, because I'm well and it is the important thing. I learn for the next occasion: don't bring the dogs near the cows when I take it for around. I hope you enjoyed this post. Don't forget to correct it.... :)

The haymaking of the farm

The last week we do the hay-making in the farm.
In a farm you need to feed the cattle in winter. So the farmer has to leave the grass to grow in the central paddock of the propriety (the 2 largest one). Hay-making is cutting the grass in a paddock. It is similar to doing mowing in your lawn but on a large scale. So the farmer contracts an outside business to do this job.
Basically the machines involved in this hay-making operation are tractors with huge mowers cutting wide strips of grass in a pattern around the paddock. It is incredible to see it in operation!!!
The grass has one meter tall more or less. After the tractor has cuts the grass (in a 5 meter wide strip) it is left on the ground (to wilt). Then another tractor equipped with a turner pushes the grass in to a neat row. The rows are not cubicles as in the films, they are cylindrical. The mowing tractor then swaps the mower for a baling attachment, picking up the grass and rolling out big round bales. One bale is the equivalent of 14 old fashioned rectangular bales.
The third tractor comes along to collect these big bales and stacks them on the back of a truck, 8 bales in total fit on here. The truck delivers the load at a central point. Were the bales are off loaded, and put in to a wrapping machine. This is the spectacular moment. The base holding the gal swivels around, and simultaneously a strip of plastic covers the bale until it is completely sealed, in only 30 seconds!!!
Then a tractor with a grab device (like some inventions of Dr. Slump), picks up the bale and places it into position on a stack.

Why I don't show any video before? It is a good question. We have to go the begining, in the beginin was God, and God create the dinosaurs, the dinosaurs convert in to petrol and the Arabs use to drive his Mercedes Benz.... No, talking seriously, I don't discover the filming function of the camera until yesterday, so now I'm very exciting because I can do reports and publish here ^^

The history is long, once upon a time I put the camera in my bag, and I don't take care my bag very well, so wen I saw the camera was out of order I though I break it. So I open the camera to see the break piece, but for my surprise the camera was perfectly, so I put all the pieces together and put the battery to charge. After 8 hours of charge and praying all the Saints I put the batteries on the camera and... eureka! The camera get on without problem. Now you can laugh of me... But thanks I open the camera I show than they have one micro, so I start to think that the camera can film thighs, and after many time touching buttons I discover how to change from photos to film. And that the history, instead have to read a blog without photos now have a blog with photos and videos :0

Hello family and friends. Many people read my blog!! Thanks to everyone who commented to my blog!! This encourages to continue writing the blog.

Enri don't stop bothering me asking for use a better quality camera ;) so here it is: the pictures are of better quality now, but don't get used to this, it is not my camera, so I can't use all the time.This is the meeting house, the villagers use as a church, but when in the village became to live Catholics and Anglicans they choose to built his own churches and use the meeting house only for the cultural meetings.The excursion in this occasion was to Tewhakarewarewatangaoteopetauaawahiao (or Whakarewarewa, sorter), it was awesome. The people calls it only Whaka. This Maori village, has thermal waters, it is incredible to see it because in the middle of a normal village you find vapor everywhere, and a river of warm water, you have to be careful, because in some places the water was literally boiling, so you can cook meals there. It is a private village, so you have to pay per person to visit it, but the people are very friendly (like all over New Zealand).
The visit includes a guide who showed us around and explained much Maori culture. Here she showed us how to made a typical Maori clothes.

In the middle of this village stands a small church (Catholic). After the 1886 Tarawera eruption survivors came back to this village. The Chiefs then drew a line, everyone living to the West this line became Catholic and attendee of this church, those living East of this line became Anglican and worshipped in the Anglican church. The pictures are from the Catholic church.

One of the most spectacular things was the Pohutu geyser, the earth leaches out water at great pressure forming a water spout of 30 metres, but you can't see the rainbow (may be because is water mixed with other minerals or we are in the wrong angle, may be Javier S o Beatriz L could explain us why...). It could bursting out 15 minutes apart, but it is not regular.

The square thing that you see is an oven made with a simple wooden frame to cook vegetables, meats or desserts, the natural smell (sulphur) give to the food an special flavor and it is healthy to do it!! There are many ovens positioned around the kitchen compound (it is like a common kitchen who all the village could use it), when one is full the villagers use another.

We watch mud pools continually bubbling up mudOther activities of the farm that I have been involved in was the cutting (harvesting) of manuka trees with the chain saws and crunch them with my chest, I'm the most similar to an "aizkolari" than New Zealand have. In these photos you can see the difference in the quality of the cameras. Here come the lower quality photos, sorry Enri... :P At the moment I'm experiencing some technical problems with the camera, so may be in the next couple of weeks I will not put photos in the blog... sorry :(

On Saturday January 10th we went to a Brosnahans' friend wedding . The bride was very nervous but very happy and the priest, Father Anthony Bernal, preached a very good homily explaining what real love is.

In past I wrote about the calves I feed, they are 4 little cows without mother that I take care of, feeding every day with milk and moozly. So here are some photos to show you what I am talking about (my precious cows): One of the calves try to suck milk of the blue bucket XDTe cattle have the estrange ability of could take his tongue in tho the nose P: One day we went on a ski doughnut in the water with the boat of a John and Rias friend, it is very fun, and easy, the donut take a lot of speed so sometimes I'm afraid of tumbling over but it is very exciting.New Zealand have magnifient scenarios (a powerful beauty in my own words). These 3 pictures you can mount together. Now we are near to Christmas, the birthday of Jesus. Some people like to write X-mas, it’s the same, the ancient Christians and nowadays use the sings XTO in reference to Christ. I copy for you my few readers one story written by CS Lewis 50 years ago:

This week been exhausting, I prepared a lot of Christmas letters (I hope all of them will be arrive at time). I was helping in the cleaning and set it up the house for Christmas. I met Ben, one of the Brosnahans' son, he have a jumping machine that runs with air pressure. Is awesome! I met also Dominic and he helps me correcting a letter for a present to John and Ria.

We have a leg of pork cooked in the barbecue, turkey cocked in the oven, salad, delicious chocolate. The dinner of the 24 and the lunch of the 25 is no so solemn than in Spain, the people serve his dish in the table and go to the living room or to the balcony and eat it. Here is summer.

Some time later all the people meet in the living room to open the Christmas gifts. For us is an especial moment. I receive a green t-shirt of New Zealand, a Book of Prayers in English, and a Christmas songs CD. And I give a frame with a familiar remembrance to the Brosnahan's, a hunt book to Scott (the boyfriend of Estah), and a video game (The Chronicles of Riddick: escape for butcher bay), to Maximilian and he like it a lot. Estah, Max, Ben and Dominic are daughter and sons of John and Ria.

Excursion to Rotoma

Today I was at the lake Rotoma. It was great fun, Ria, Naomi and I kayaked to a rock some distance away where we jumped in to the water. Also, we went to a hot pool. It’s incredible, the earth is hot and hot water comes out of the ground, sometimes you sense more hot water flowing by.
I learned to paddle the kayak and on the return trip we did a race, and I won!!! This experience made me feel like I was in the Anduin’s Lord of the Rings river.
Last Thursday and Friday we worked very hard in the woodshed -not all hot pools and paradisiacals’ lakes- Steve and I worked together debarking blocks of wood –these were the base of the trunk of the tree. We produce a lot of material, ready for packing next week. On Friday we finished the day with a beer. I also feed the calves twice a day. Sometimes Max helps with the feeding and once a calf stood on his bare feet. Max yelped and ran back into the house to put on his gumboots and the calf followed him trot (the whole scene looked comical and cute).

On Saturday I mowed the lawns with the lawnmower, emptying the grass around the plants, so the soil would not dry out in the summer.

Excursion to Hato Paora

Hello everybody: I’m salvy and I’m very proud could write to you my fanatic readers. The last weekend (9th November) I went to Ngaputahi it was really big area of bush (rain forest), the bush was extend through hills, valley and hills, so you was to be careful because you can lost.
After the journey, we go to a communion service (one religious explain us the difference). The parish names’ is Hato Paora, I don’t know the meaning. The people of this depopulate area only can receive the communion once a month.
After the communion service we had lunch and one filming equip went to made a press report of people and costumes of Ngaputahi. The cameraman participated in the filming of The Lord of the Rings, and I congratulate him for his well done job. If you look to the picture in the middle was the cameraman (you could not see his face, but its there). He like I congratulate for his job.
Later we go to a rain forest (or bosh in New Zealand slang). The 3 photos tree was to sow you the taller of the tree. You can take the perspective about me (o the car if you prefer...:P
The next two pictures are me sating down on a deformed trunk. This strange form made the tree to search the light (not because I’m very heavy :)
In the photo you can see the “te Whaiti nui a toi canyon”, its not a good photo, sorry, but I don’t have time to do more, they have 3 flats of tall more or less.
This is the people of the parish who go with us to the excursion.
I’d specially like this photo, you can see the “spiritual light” of this forest.

Travels, animals and hills: New Zealand

24 of October

The last weekend I went with John and Ria to Taupo, the biggest lake in New Zealand, covering an area of 400 Km2 formed by 2 crater lakes. We came here to celebrate a family member's birthday. During our travels we crossed over a man-made dam, the environment looked like The Lord of the Rings Anduin river. I took several photos along the way. The landscape is very green. Sometimes I feel cold , because New Zealand is cooler than Spain. The temperature changes to night time but are greater to the day time.

When I feed the calves, the ponies are very upset, especially Rosie, because they like eating the Moozlee (TM) (special food for calves) and they try to steal it. The ponies' names are: Rosie, the golden one and Coco the dark-brown one.

One day we went to the Ohope Beach, it is a cold beach so I did not swim in it. But there is a lot of vegetation on the hills near. Some persons use the waves to surf on. We walked over a cliff and enjoyed the splendid view of the ocean and islands: Whale Island and White Island.

This is a curious photo than I took of the sun, in the middle of the sun there is an obscure point, so I suppose it looks like a planet or visual effect. It is an a visual effect, I took another photo of the sun and appear the same point.

The last photo is a new view of the farm.

One day I went to a walk with Casta (masc.) and Tan (fem.), the dogs of the farm and they hunt a turkey, it's incredible see him hunting. The hunting was started by Casta, the oldest dog of the pack (he is deaf), because he was the oldest he can't finish the hunt. Nevertheless, the other dogs cut the retreat of the turkey so Tan, the female of the pack could hunt the turkey. Althoug they start to eat it before kill it :`(

My duties in the farm

Here I am in Aukland, in my room studying. Now I'm a farm near Ohope.Hello everybody I am still alive. I’m working on a farm in Ohope, Whakatane near the beach. I started the 9 of October 2008, and finish on 22 of February 2009 (4 months and thirnteen days) John & Ria are owners of the farm and they have a business of woodchips and I help them packing the shavings, strip the bark of the wood, and feeding the animals. The woodchips are use to smoke meats or fishs and also for barbeques.

It’s very funny seeing the pigs, a big big pig followed by 7 little pigs. The pigs could follow me because I feed them. They have ponies also, and you can pet them, and it’s very exciting see them when Ria open the gate of their paddock. They think they are free and do crazy things. After I finish helping John and Ria I practice my English reading a book with a loud voice, and Ria or her daughter Naomi correct my English pronunciation and improve the intonation.

Last Friday I went to the Ordination of a local deacon into the priesthood. It's very emotive to see the ordination, the deacon (Matt) was a little bit nervous and during the Mass when he was receiving the congratulations of the other priests, he forgot to say hello to the last 5 priestswho sat separately, then the congregation laughed heartily and he proceeded to recive their good wishes.

Today (Saturday) John, Ria and I went to the first mass of Father Matt.

The people were very kind. A couple of friends of John and Ria offered me to go their house for a meal. I have planted an apple tree on the top of a hill in the Brosnahan farm, maybe in three years the apple will germinate, grow and become a tree. In the photo you can see my shadow and also the place of the future tree. You can see me “working” in the woodshed, the photo was taken on Sunday, in a working day my cloths are more farmer’s. This weekend the Brosnahan had 6 extra persons staying in their house, all going to the Ordination. Near Ohope is the Wight island with an active volcano, they tell me that it is very interesting to visit.

Wellinton is the city where The Lord of the Rings whas filmed, and I like to visit some day. Today Father Anthony Bernal come to the shed where we make the woodchips and he blessed it. This is my life in New Zealand, I miss all of you, I hope everything going very well in Madrid. You could send me photos of your experiences in Madrid.

Palm tree taller than me!

Hello everybody:

I'm back, like Indiana Jones. How is your English going on? My English goes step by step, I still don't understand a conversation. When they are talking to me it's easier but watching TV or listening a conversation is too difficult. This week I have been in Hamilton, it’s a very little village to the south of Auckland. They have a very big lake, it’s a volcanic lake, no rivers feeding it. It is very big (but it´s nothing comparated with the Rotorua lake, about 16 kilometres away) it's also has much vegetation around it.

These pictures are devoted to my mother and my sister Bea, for they like ducks

They have ducks and other native aquatic birds, but I don't remember their names. I've visited the university and there I met James Cuming, he would like to go to Madrid on Pope Benedict's visit in 2011. Here everybody is talking about the recent visit of the Pope to Sydney. I have to correct the previous article, because though there are no dinosaurs there are dragons!

I've had a job offer, but here start's the interesting thing, because now I have to send an application to the government to ask for a work visa. Maybe the next week I start to work in a farm! I don't know what class of job I have to do, but the important thing is that I can learn English (my main goal of the journey).

Finally I hunt the dragon

I've been also in Whakatane it's more rural than Auckland. All the houses and business have no more than two stories. Whakatane is at the mouth of the Whakantane river with a port that is use for big game fishing (marlin, tuna and other large fish) and toursim (swiming with the dolphins and visiting a large off shore active volcano). In the town there is a miniature railway.

Whakatane is also one of the places in New Zealand where the Maori people arrived in the XII century. There is a large Maori population in the Whakatane district.

The first week (La primera semana)

Hola a todo el mundo. ¿Cómo os van las cosas? Yo aquí sigo en Nueva Zelanda. He estado buscando trabajo, y la verdad es que es bastante dificil hacerse entender en otra lengua. Pero llevo entregados unos cuantos CV (curriculum en inglés significa asignatura), estoy esperando que me llamen.

Hello everybody. How all things going on? I´m still in New Zealand. I´d been searching job, and it is very difficult try to made understand to other people in other language. But I give some CV (curriculums in English means subject), I´m waiting they call me.

Estoy viviendo en una casa con una gente muy maja. Crhis (es un tio) me ha ayudado a abrir una cuenta en el banco y dándome consejos de cómo buscar trabajo. También he conocido a Luis que es de Barcelona, aunque no hablo con él en español, intento hacerme entender y ellos me entienden (lo que pueden jeje). La casa está más o menos céntrica, lo que me permite ir a los restaurantes en los que me pueden dar trabajo.

I´m living in a house with a very smart people. Chris (it is a mate) help me to open a new account in the bank and give me advises to find a job. I´m meet also Luis, he is from Barcelona, but I only talk with him in English, I try to made me compressible, and they understand me (as they could haha). It is more or less a centric house, so I would go to the restaurants to ask for a job.

Mucha gente me lo ha preguntado, y quería desmentirlo desde aquí , no en Nueva Zealnda no hay dinosaurios. Es un lugar muy verde, con muchísima vegetación, pero no hay dinosaurios. La ciudad en sí es portuaria, se nota que el mar está cerca ya que corroe el metal. La verdad es que no hay mucho más que contar. Una pequeña y estúpida entrada

Sólo escribo estas líneas para conpartir con vosotros mis queridos lectores, que por fin he conseguido configurar el Windows de este ordenador para que me deje utilizar el flamante teclado español que me he tradido de mi país. Al final me he dado cuenta de que era mucho más fácil de lo que yo me creia. Sólo había que acceder al panel de control y pinchar en fecha, hora, lengua, y opciones regionales y una vez allí pinchar en cambiar el formato de números, fechas y horas. Y por último en la nueva ventana que te sale habría ir al apartado "location"(en inglés) para cambiar la pestaña y que en vez de tener información de Nueva Zelanda, pudiera tener información de España (Spain). Así me permitía cambiar del Inglés de Nueva Zelanda a Español de España, pudiendo cambiarlo en cualquier momento pinchando en la barra de tareas según el idioma que quiera utilizar cuando me conecto. Por lo tanto el teclado español sólo me ha servido para tener la comodidad de ver la "ñ" en el teclado, ya que en cualquier teclado se pondría la "ñ"al pulsar con el dedo meñique de la mano derecha aunque físicamente no la viaeras...Y es que la informática es maravillosa, qué haríamos sin ella, probablemente llorar todo el día en una sucia esquina maldiciendo no haber nacido en la era de la informática. Y con este apunte informático me despido prometiéndoos que en la próxima entrada habrá foticos. Hala.

Now I'm really in New Zealand Hello everybody. After 30 hour of flight I'm in the antipodes of the World, further than Cristobal Colon, riskier than Indiana Jones, further than the Middle Earth, New Zealand the world of the kiwis, the Maoris and all thegreen plants.

During the flight all went fine, I see Brother Bear, I finish reading TheLord of the Rings: the Return of the King. The flight is very advanced, all the passenger have their own television, and could choose their programs, I was listening for example to ABBA or watching Speed Racer. We have the meals of one day and a half. I arrive at Hong-Kong 11-September-2008, I'm in the airport 2 hours and take the plane to New Zealand, the first flight, has been 16 hours I think, and the second flight was 10 hours, plus the 2 hours flight Madrid/London and the airport hours plus more or less 32 hours of flight.

In New Zealand airport I've been 4 hours, why? Because I've talking with the immigration agent in the airport. I spent one hour and a half whaiting to a translator Spanish-English, and another 1 and 1/2 hours talking about my reasons to be in New Zealand, at the end of the interview the kind immigration agent calls Greg or Fred (I think Greg) give me the tourist visa for 3 months. I say kind not ironically because he gave me permission to enter NZ and could have told me to return to Spain. But I think I'm good man for him, so he allowed me the entry. On the interview he ask me all about my life, and reviewed all my papers, and I said I'd like to been in New Zealand because The Lord of the Rings was filmed here, and he like it (I think). So my experience taught me, that if you fly to NewZealand you need a return ticket to Spain, if you don't have it the people of Immigration of New Zealand ask you many questions and it may depend on the humour of the agent if you can enter New Zealand or return to Spain. But at the end I don't have to pay the ticket of return until I decided to return to Spain (the visa is only for 3 months, so now I've to solicit a work visa if I obtain a job offer.

The people of New Zealand are very kind and educated. The bus chauffeur help me to put the bags on his place, and later he indicated me the address my lodgings in Auckland. When I went to the house I saw that was not adress, but Tom, one of the persons who lives there, helped me to find the right address. They are really kind people because he took me in his car to the correct house, so now I'm in the correct adress typing on the keyboard to make it possible to make my blog. I rent a room in the house, and now I'm start to search a job to stay in New Zealand for more than 3months. See you all and kisses for she's especially to my mum.

Bueno hoy es martes, 26 de agosto de 2008 y doy comienzo al blog oficial de un Español en Nueva Zelanda.

So today it is Tuesday, 26 of August of 2008 and I start the official blog of one Spaniard in New Zealand.

Lo llevo pensando en serio desde hace dos meses, aproximadamente desde el 1 de julio de 2008, cuando en mi empresa decidieron que ya no me necesitaban. Fue un momento duro, pero me llevó a replantearme la idea de irme a un país de habla inglesa a perfeccionar mi inglés. Lo fui diciendo por casa y a los amigos, pero se ve que no creían que fuera a ir muy en serio, ya que se mostraron muy sorprendidos cuando les comuniqué que ya tenia el billete, a mi madre no le hizo especial gracia.

I tough about it seriously 2 months about, approximately from the 1 of July of 2008, when in my company decide that they just don´t need me. It was a hard moment, but they bring me to replant myself the idea of go to an English Speaking foreing country to improve my English. I´ve been tell in my home and friends, but I think they don´t beleive I talk seriously, because they show themselves very surprise when I communicate that I have the plane ticket, particurarly my mother don´t like it.

Bueno, pues es verdad, ya tengo el billete para ir a Nueva Zelanda y es sólo de ida. Me gusta la idea de no tener vuelta atrás. A veces me da miedito, pero lo superaré. Saldré de viaje el 10 de septiembre, y estaré en Nueva Zelanda el 12. Mientras tanto tendré que resolver unos cuantos asuntillos antes de irme a ese maravilloso país. Tengo que conseguir el visado de estudiante o el de turista en la embajada Neozelandesa en Madrid (España).

¿Cómo se me ocurrió elegir este destino tan austral? Muy fácil, no iba a tener otra oportunidad en la vida de irme tan lejos. No es sólo turismo lo que me atrae, sino aprender inglés, ¿qué mejor manera de aprenderlo que en un país tan alejado, suena a aventura, no sólo a un viaje de estudios. También me atrajo Nueva Zelanda porque allí se rodó "El Señor de los Anillos" y soy un friki de esos libros y un admirador innato de JRR Tolkien. En el poco tiempo libre que me quede me gustaría hacer excursiones a los parajes naturales que se utilizaron para el rodaje.

¿Qué es lo primero que haré al llegar a Nueva Zelanda? Ir a visitar a unos amigos de unos amigos que tengo en Nueva Zelanda de los que tengo que conseguir las señas. Lo siguiente será entrar en contacto con unas empresas en las que solicitaré trabajo. Si consigo entrar en contacto con estos amigos Neozelandeses espero tener el alojamiento asegurado o por lo menos apalabrado.

Cuando llegue allí será el principio de la primavera o el final del invierno, así que si consigo quedarme un año me habré saltado las dos estaciones frías de España. En cuanto tenga una dirección estable os la mandaré para que me podáis escribir, lo cual me hará muchísima ilusión.

Uno de mis deseos secretos (a voces) es participar en el rodaje del "El Hobbit" que seguramente se rodará el verano que viene en Nueva Zelanda, si lo consigo os lo haré saber en seguida, si me dejan....

En fin hasta aquí mi primera entrada en este blog de viaje. Lo utilizaré de cuaderno de bit'acora, si consigo una cámara haré foticos y las publicaré para que las llenéis de comentarios chorra. Es una entrada llena de deseos y buenas intenciones. La repasaré los últimos días que esté en Nueva Zelanda para ver si he cumplido mis objetivos o me he columpiado. En fin desearme suerte y rezad para que consiga un buen trabajo que me permita estudiar, hacer amigos y que el viaje me salga lo más barato posible. Sinceramente vuestro:

Hello everybody it is the first time I publicize a blog. I always like to give my opinion in forums, participate in it and read the other people opinion. The bad thing of this sistems is that all your apportions get lost, been good or bad...

Mis aficiones son los videojuegos, el cine, los libros, así que supongo que mi blog irá sobre esos temas. Me gustaría poder dedicarle tiempo y que por lo menos una vez por semana tuvierais opiniones y reportajes en profundidad sobre los temas que me interesen y que os interesen. Me gustaría que pudierais postear vuestras opiniones, comentarios o sugerencias, que siempre serán bienvenidas y se les hará caso siempre que me sea posible.

My hobbies are video games, films, read books, so I suppose my blog it is going to be of this themes. I will like to take time to post in it once a week and you will have opinions and profound reportage's about my interesting themes and yours. I will like you can post your opinions, comments o suggestions, that always will be welcome and I will try to hear always if is possible.

Mis cómics favoritos son: Dragon Ball de Akira Toriyama, Bone de Jeff Smith, Tintín de Erge, Dr. Slump de Akira Toriyama, Asterix y Obelix de R. Goscinny y A. Uderzo.
